2018年12月27日上午10:00，中南大学材料学院青年科协联合材料学院研究生会举办的青年学术沙龙第375场在特冶楼229顺利进行，材料科学与工程学院刘楚明教授和曾广特聘教授等师生到场参加。

受刘楚明教授和曾广特聘教授的邀请，Dr. Qinfen Gu（澳大利亚同步辐射粉末行射线站）做了题为“In situ/operando synchrotron-based X-ray techniques for energy storage materials”的学术报告。报告中，Dr. Qinfen Gu介绍了同步辐射的主要优点（平行度高、强度高、能量可调）与相关的快速散射或衍射研究。即在同步加速器源中，不同波束的各种技术可提供不同时间和长度尺度的结构和化学信息。例如，原位x射线粉末衍射(XRPD)利用同步辐射的高强度和高分辨率快速研究相变和新化合物的详细结构溶液，而小角度x射线散射(SAXS)提供了粒径和形状的信息。x射线吸收光谱(XAS)利用同步辐射的能量可调特性提供样品的原子间距、键价和氧化态。同时还介绍了同步加速器技术在各种材料和能源研究中的应用。并强调结合同步辐射与各种样品环境设置，能够证明他们方法的有效性。
报告人简介：

Dr. Qinfen Gu is the active principal beamline scientist at Australia Synchrotron, and an adjunct senior researcher fellow in school of chemistry, University of Melbourne He was awarded a PhD from department of material at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. In addition to beamline development and instrument design Dr. Gu focuses his researches in the area of energy storage materials, metal-organic frameworks and zeolites, He has co-authored more than 100 referred journal publications and has received several Australian research council (ARC) grants. International Journal of Engineering Sciences. He has held visiting positions at Brown University, Indian Institute of Science, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He belongs to the European Mechanics of Materials Conference Committee, to the Multiscale Modelling of Materials International Advisory Board, and to the External Advisory Panel, Institute of materials.
